Each year in Italy, more than 10,000 young people contract serious and chronic illnesses. These children must be subjected to what are often invasive and long-term therapies that force them to spend long periods of time in the hospital. The conditions of the disease not only oblige them to deal with fear, fatigue, and often side effects, but also limit their social life with children their own age. As a result, these children are at great risk of losing their serenity, their light-heartedness, and childhood happiness. In Italy, there are now no structures specifically dedicated to hosting these children outside of the hospital environment. Dynamo Camp therefore represents an opportunity for these children to spend a recreational period in a protected environment where the maximum safety will always be guaranteed by excellent medical assistance and by the constant supervision of qualified personnel. At the camp, the children will be able to develop their own capacities by experimenting with numerous activities - both creative and with nature - benefiting from the advantages of finding themselves in a WWF affiliated Oasis where the Camp is located. They will also be able to share unforgettable moments with many other youngsters who have had experiences similar to theirs. They will be able to support each other by collaborating and having fun together and will boost their self-confidence, which will then sustain them during the continuation of their therapies upon their return home. In the future, the Camp will also be able to offer specific programs for both parents and the healthy siblings of these children, involving the entire family that has had to deal with the illness.
